Car Trips

I have always enjoyed spending time with Taylor. I had the opportunity to ride ALL the way to Elk City to pick up the new trailer. This was immensely entertaining. I sang along to EVERY song on the radio, commented on EVERY sign we saw... and was MOST helpful backseat driving. Here are a few pics of the day.

However, this is the best part of the drive.

Salon

This post is for Taylor. I was trying to explain what a bridal salon was like. It was hard to describe a room full of dressing rooms and mirrors. Here it is !

Room 22~~~~ This is where it all went down!!!!! Where I tried on and purchased the perfect dress!

Bridal attendant dress shopping round 1

I will have three amazing women stand with me on my wedding day.
I met Kelly when I was working at NOC. She works in the finance office and I was a recruiter. We hit it off immediately and became lunch buddies. I met her family one by one and fell in love with them all! They are so thoughtful, genuine, and excellent people. I truly look up to Nate and Kelly as role models for what an amazing marriage looks like in my generation. LOVE THEM!
Nate and their son Mitchael will usher our family into the wedding ceremony while Kelly and their daughter Kleigh will stand with me.
I met Katherine (Taylor's sister) about a month after Taylor and I started dating. She is unbelievable. She is the kind of person that brings out the best in everyone. She is positive, energetic, and incredibly thoughtful. While she will be standing on Taylor's side... I am more than ecstatic to have her as my attendant. I cannot wait to have a sister!
Ashley and I have been friends since high school. She and her husband moved back to Ponca City and we have dinner together every week or two. Justin is a barrel man and travles the US during the warm summer months. Ashley has been dying to join the rodeo circut with him and .....sadly, will be gone all summer. I have come to depend on our weekly talks as well as her advice. It will be hard to let her leave... but I know she will have a great summmer. Because she is leaving we had to push up the dress shopping adventure.

We left after work on Friday and headed to David's Bridal in Tulsa.
Here are some of the dresses I just LOVE!!!!!
I really like this one!!!! I love the color~it goes with our fall color scheme.

I like this one but it seems a little less forgiving. I want the girls to feel comfortable in them and while this one is super pretty, just might not be something you would want to wear all day.

This one was not a favorite. Little too much fabric on the side... had an odd look in person.

I love love love love love this one!!!! the flowy bottom is super cute! It seems relaxed and comfy.

 Isn't the top cute???

I am crazy about this one!!! It can be made in the red or a nice latte color.

I can't wait to see what Kelly and Katherine think!!!!

Woodyard Farms

Last weekend we attended the most amazing engagement party!. Nancy and Carol truly went above and beyond to throw us a perfect celebration. The food was ~AMAZING~

We brought a small cookie jar along with some advice cards. We asked each couple in attendance to give us some marriage advice. When they finished they put their cards in the cookie jar! We figured that there were MANY years of combined marriage years and that the guests had a LOT to offer. We have really enjoyed reading them all!

Carol and Nancy also gave us some amazing Wilton Armetale serving platters.

We were THRILLED to find out this would get to live at our house!!!!!!!!
Cannot wait to have a fireplace to hang it over!

Now folks, here are the people that made us happen. The story has several versions.... each person taking the lead........... but here is how we like to tell it. Nancy (far left) was having a birthday party. Ron and Jody (between Nancy and me) were visiting when Ron asked Jody if she knew of any single teachers to fix Taylor up with. Jody, of course, says YES!!! The following Monday she came barging (yes, barging) into my classroom and announced she found a husband for me. She also asked my permission to give his father my phone number!  ahh!!! and the rest is history :)
No matter who was responsible, we THANK YOU !!!

Shopping for clothes

Saturday we went to Tulsa to purchase a few last minute outfits for our engagement photo session on Sunday. We had such a good time shopping together! Taylor would pick out shirts and I would try them on. He then went on to tell me how fabulous I looked in each one. I think I purchased everything he loved. :)  Since it was Cinco de Mayo we ate dinner at Los Cabos. This is the amazing restaurant next door to Bass Pro. The food was to die for. We heard a great band outside and ate until we were stuffed. We had a lovely couple take our picture to document the evening!

Party

How thankful we are for amazing friends. A few weeks ago some of our dear friends offered to host an engagement party for us. We were delighted and, of course, loved the idea. Today I received the invitation in the mail. It is adorable! I know I was proposed to, I know we have made arrangements for the venue, I know I purchased a dress....... but to see our names on an invitation was more exciting than I could have imagined! Take a look at the invitation!!
